Organization journey

Our evolutionary path

Tracing our journey from grassroots beginnings to global influence, see how we've evolved to create safe and sustainable spaces for girls worldwide.

Hello world!

Inception

Our humble beginnings started with 6 girls at a church meeting weekly to discuss the pressing challenges they were facing at at 11-13 led by our founder Aisha.

Founded - 2011

Stage 1

Growing support

Expansion

6 girls became 10 and together we mobilized to organize the first Power to Girls Conference bringing together 60 girls from across the Rexdale community.

Growth - 2013

Stage 2

Sustainability

Innovation

With growing support, we officially registered as a NGO in 2013 and received our first transformative grant from the Youth Opportunities Fund in 2016 we expanded our reach, established a partnership with the TCDSB and launched programs in over 10 schools to support black and marginalized girls.

Stage 3

Lasting change

Global Impact

.Embracing innovation, we leveraged technology and sustainable practices to enhance program effectiveness. In 2017 we registered the Ghanaian chapter of Power to Girls , built partnerships and delivered multiple programs. To date we have directly reached over 5,000 girls across Canada and Ghana, build partnerships with multiple organizations and have raised up to $1M in funding. Today, we proudly stand as a global force for girls empowerment , collaborating with partners worldwide to create meaningful impact. And our journey is just beginning.
